Luxury vinyl: thicker and more durable
Luxury vinyl flooring is five times thicker than a sheet. While there's a range of thicknesses, the best is 8 mm to 12 mm.

Original vinyl comes in sheets 12-13 feet wide. Luxury vinyl flooring, however, can be cut into square, tile-sized pieces (LVT), used mainly for stone and tile looks.
Vinyl plank flooring refers to the material being cut to mimic hardwood floorboards. Many say the extra seams of the cuts add even more to the realism.
