SPC flooring is another name for engineered vinyl, waterproof flooring that mimics hardwood, stone, or tile and uses the SPC core. What is SPC?
SPC stands for "stone plastic composite," one of two technologically advanced cores. The other is WPC (wood plastic composite), both offering the highest level of moisture protection and never peeling or rippling no matter how much water they're exposed to or for how long. So, you can leave your home for weeks or months, come home to an appliance flood, wipe it dry and then reuse the floor.
SPC has a solid core made of calcium, polyvinyl chloride, and plasticizers. It has a hard feeling underfoot, giving the surface the feel of authentic wood or stone, and it's more durable, often being used in busy offices, restaurants, hotels, and other commercial spaces. WPC is pretty similar but includes foaming agents and wood products such as wood flour; it is warmer and flexible.
